On site registration opens at 7:30am. Race starts at 9:00am.
You’re invited to join us for Child Guidance's 7th annual Superhero Run for Prevention 5k Run/I Mile Walk and Wellness Fair! New this year, we will be running in Ridley Creek State Park (pavilion 17). This smooth, flat course was chosen both for serious runners and families who want to stroll for a great cause. The race is dog friendly, kid friendly, stroller and wheel-chair accessible and a fantastic way to spend the morning with your friends and family. We will have kids dashes at 8:45am, then the 5k and 1 mile begin promptly at 9:00. Costumes are welcomed, so feel free to come as your favorite superhero!
All participants registering before September 25 will receive a tek-tee along with their swag bag. If you register before September 15, your size is guaranteed, (including children's sizes!). Late and walk-up registrants will receive shirts until they are gone. There are awards for the top three finishers in each age group and prizes for the top three finishers overall and the captain of the top fundraising team.
Want to be highlighted on the shirt? Then create a team! You can run and/or fundraise as a team. Fundraising teams can have any number of members. Simply create your team during registration (you will be asked to create or join an existing team on the registration page), raise some money to help kids who need it most and you are golden. Or, grab 6 or more of your closest friends, register as a team, and get your team name on the back of the t-shirt. Of course, we would love it if you would also fundraise--there are some tips for that below! Prizes will be awarded to the captain of the top fundraising team (fundraising teams can even be a team of 1) and to the captain of the largest team. Please call Tiiu Lutter at 484-454-8744 with any questions.
Before, during and after the race we will have a Wellness Fair and raffle. There is no charge to attend the Wellness Fair, and lots to do there, so bring your cheering section! Come join us for a morning filled with music, a costume theme, refreshments, and more! Everyone is welcome!
There are many ways to increase your impact on the lives of children who struggle. Every penny helps, a $10 donation is significant for us and can provide dinner one evening for three families attending our Incredible Years Program. $200 will give psychiatric care to a child.
You can send an email to your contacts asking them to support you running for Child Guidance. They can donate directly in your name at www.cgrc.org/donate.
You can make an appeal on social media, although we would still recommend you refer your friends to www.cgrc.org/donate because
All proceeds from this event will directly support families in the five-county Philadelphia area with addiction, mental health, and behavioral health needs. Join us to promote drug and alcohol awareness and raise funds to provide therapeutic care for children and families. With your support, we can work towards our goal to provide every child with a safe home and comprehensive, affordable behavioral and mental healthcare. Together, we can change the lives of thousands of families and provide them with the support they deserve!
