Explore San Carlos' outstanding trail system -- one of the Peninsula's greatest hidden treasures -- at its most verdant. Challenging 5k (~530ft of climbing) and 10k (~1,100ft of climbing) courses through Big Canyon and Eaton Parks. Start and Finish Festival at Crestview Park. Course Description Winding and forested single-track packed with punchy hills and tight turns gives way to rewarding views of San Francisco, Mt. Diablo and the Bay. Don’t miss this chance to experience Big Canyon and Eaton Parks, including three brand new trails, at their most verdant. Start and Finish Festival at Crestview Park. The 5K route is exclusively trail; our 10K route includes some pavement (approximately ¾ mile) on Brittan Ave. Follow links above for detailed course map. Some minor adjustments to the route may be made until May 1, 2023. Registration Information Register by April 1 for 'early bird' pricing! 5k: $40 ($50 after April 1); $45 on Race Day pending availability. 10k: $50 ($60 after April 1); $65 on Race Day pending availability. Race Capacity: 200 runners across 5 and 10k distances. Runners must be 14 years old by June 3, 2023 to participate. Race Day Registration available at Crestview Park 7:30a-8:30a while bibs remain. Logistics and Policies Bib Pickup: Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2: San Carlos Youth Center (1001 Chestnut St, San Carlos, CA 94070) 9AM-7PM; Race Morning: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM Park Information: Big Canyon and Eaton Parks Start and Finish Festival at Crestview Park. Start Times: 10K – 9:00 AM; 5k – 9:15 AM Parking: Street parking is available along Brittan Ave. and Crestview Road. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Timing: All races are professionally chip timed thanks to A Runner’s Mind Productions, ensuring your time is captured as accurately as possible. Disposable chips are attached to the back of each bib number. Amenities: Bathrooms (porta potty and permanent restrooms with changing tables) available at Crestview Park. Playground, picnic tables and lawn games for spectators. Spectating: Highly encouraged! Great viewing sports include the mouth of Big Canyon, Vista trail in Eaton Park and the gut-busting 10k finish at the intersection of Brittan Ave and Crestview Drive. Post Race: We will offer plenty of water and electrolyte rich beverages, as well as a wide selection of sweet and salty snacks, including fresh fruit. Dog Policy: Dogs may spectate, but not participate in this year’s race. All dogs must remain on leash. No Exceptions. Volunteers: A race is only as good as its crew!
