Hey Urban Athletes!
Rebuilding Together Philadelphia brings communities and volunteers together to transform vulnerable homes into safe, healthy and energy-efficient homes. RTP repairs 75-100 homes per year with over 1,000 volunteers. Stefanie Seldin goes to UA and is the Executive Director there.
Please run with us! We are fundraising for Ernestine Brown, who has lived in her home on Ogden Street for 34 years where she lives with her 20 year old granddaughter. Ernestine suffers from mobility issues associated with back and hip injuries, asthma, emphysema, and COPD. This Spring Ernestine has been our champion in the neighborhood – she has knocked on doors, organized events, collected applications, and answered any questions Rebuilding Together Philadelphia has had about the block or the neighborhood. On March 31, April 1 and 2, RTP volunteers will be making free, safe and healthy home repairs that include completing mobility accommodations for Ernestine so that she can complete daily tasks, ripping out old and dusty carpet, installing vinyl flooring, installing a new roof and replacing a rear exterior door that is difficult to lock and prevents safe exit through the rear of the house in case of emergengy.
RTP's finish line is a safe and healthy home for every Philadelphia homeowner, and thanks to Run to Rebuild and runner and donors like you, Ernestine Brown will be able to age-in-place in her home.
