Hit the Hay 8 Mile Trail Run In the forests that Daniel Boone himself trod as a strapping young lad, the trail run has some double and triple track trails, 4-5 water crossings, two beautiful reservoirs, an abandoned quarry, washed out roads, two short technical down hills, an old railroad bed, decaying canal locks, a sustained climb, three water stops, a luxurious downhill, and a murderous climb. Holy Child Academy 5K 5K Run / 5K Walk / 1mi Kids Run in scenic Drexel Hill on Sunday September 7th at 9:00am. Join us for a Celebratory Liturgy and Mass at 7:30am, to be followed by a Blessing of the Runners prior to the race. Registration is $15.00 (+ $3.00 online registration fee) for the 5K Run/Walk in advance ($20.00 day of race if available), $5.00 (+ 3.00 online registration fee) for 1mi Kids Run ($10.00 day of race if available)... no registration fee for mail-ins. T-shirts to first 100 registered participants. Awards for M-F 1st-2nd-3rd overall plus top M-F in each age group (ten year brackets). Additional award to first HCA parent and HCA alumni. |

2nd Annual Delco 5K Run/Walk for Autism Speaks This is our second year for this event. My husband and I have a son, Dean who has autistic spectrum disorder. Dean is an amazing boy with so much enthusiasm and a great sense of humor. He works so hard for the things he accomplishes. He truly inspires us! We both enjoy running and wanted to find a way to raise funds for Autism Speaks.
Run on a shaded path in a beautiful park. Music provided by 102.9WMGK Classic Rock Station. Prizes for runners - overall top male and female and top two in each age category. Kiddie Run - prizes for everyone!!

River City 5K Run The River City Festival will kick off with the River City Run at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th. This professionally-timed 3.1 mile race will weave through the streets of Fishtown, beginning and ending at Penn Treaty Park.
Regitration fees are $15 for kids (12 and under), $20 for adults (13 and over), and $100 for teams of up to six people.
The first 100 registrants will receive a free race t-shirt. |

Women's Distance Festival 5K Run/Walk A DELCO RRC EVENT: The WDF celebrates the determination, dedication and grit of women runners, and this year we're doing it again cross country style. Run on a softer, grassy surface that's kinder on the joints than pavement. Enjoy the challenge of the rolling hills and a single creek crossing. It's all part of the Delco RRC Doubleheader, "A Day of Champions." (Any guy who is man enough to run a women's race is welcome, but only women win awards.) After the WDF, stay and watch high-school athletes compete in the 45th Annual Delaware County Cross Country Championships--on the same 5k course. Training runs will be held every Thursday night in September (until we run out of daylight) at 6:30pm on the Rose Tree Park course. Nun Run 2008-Make it a Habit The Nun Run 5K Race and Walk is a flat, fast, out and back course, with a start and finish at the Jeanne Jugan Residence at 185 Salem Church Road in Newark, Delaware (across from Christiana High School). T-shirts to all participants, refreshments available, trophies and medals to overall and age group winners. All proceeds used to help the Little Sisters of the Poor provide for the elderly of low income at Jeanne Jugan Residence. |

Delaware County Run for Heroes 5K Run/Walk The 8th Annual Run for Heroes is a 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund (for children of Police, Firefighters and Emergency Responders who have died in the line of duty). Participating is a great time and benefits a great cause. The race is held on a fast, fun course through part of Springfield Township. All entrants receive a T-shirt.

Step for Survival 5K Run and Dog Walk A 5K run or 1 mile walk (dogs welcome) through the beautiful Ridley Creek State Park. This race benefits Animal Coalition of Delaware County. We are a non-profit animal rescue that finds loving homes for the homeless dogs, cats and rabbits of Delaware County. Nether Providence Twp. 3rd Annual Race for Our First Responders Fast 5-K loop with great volunteer support and great food! Support a terrific cause and run a good time!
Net proceeds go to benefit the Nether Providence Township fund for its First Responders!
For Family and Friends Who Don’t Run: walk a mile for Our First Responders and get a T-shirt or sign the kids up for the 1k Fun Run for children 10 immediately following the 5K (give aways, but no shirt)!
Awards: First First Responder; Top 2 overall men and women; 2 deep - men and women 19 and under; 20-29; 50-59; 60+; 3 deep - men and women 30-39; 40-49.

Laurel House 5k DASH Against Domestic Violence Proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit Laurel House’s Nehemiah's’ Way program and the DART II program both of which operate out of Laurel House’s North Wales office. Nehemiah’s Way provides transitional housing for survivors of domestic violence, and the DART II program provides immediate crisis intervention for law enforcement officers responding to domestic violence calls.
